Lounge Review: LATAM Premium, Santiago

Rating: 7.5 out of 10

Santiago International can be a busy place, especially during peak transit hours. Having a reliable spot to decompress before a long flight makes all the difference. The LATAM Premium Lounge in the international terminal is designed to be exactly that—a well-appointed space that balances modern design with solid catering. Whether you're connecting through South America or starting your journey here, it’s one of the more consistent options for travelers looking to escape the terminal bustle.

Location & Access

After clearing security, just hang a left. You’ll find yourself in the dedicated LATAM lounge precinct, which houses three separate spaces: Signature, Premium, and the WorldMember Lounge.

If you're a Qantas Gold member (or higher) flying on LATAM or Qantas, this is where you’ll be heading. It also welcomes passengers traveling in international Premium Economy on LATAM flights. For a more detailed look at the entry rules, you can check them out here.

The Vibe

The experience starts with a long, scented corridor that leads you toward the reception. The warm decor and signature fragrance do a great job of making you feel like you've actually left the airport behind. The entrance itself is quite grand, anchored by a large, branch-style chandelier that gives the space a refined, modern feel.

Seating & Layout

Inside, there’s no shortage of comfortable places to sit. You’ve got deep sofas for lounging and standard dining tables if you’re looking to eat. There is also a dedicated media room—a theater-style space that’s perfect for watching sports. It’s a massive step up from the terminal in terms of comfort, though the open layout means you won’t find a lot of privacy.

Food & Drinks

The food is a high point and feels much more like a proper meal than just airport snacks. The breakfast service includes hot options like pancakes and sausages, plus a good selection of pastries, breads, and yogurt cups. By lunch, they switch over to heartier hot dishes, like roasted chicken and seasonal vegetables.

The drink situation is equally impressive. Beyond the well-stocked self-serve fridges, there’s a fully staffed bar. It’s the place to go if you want a proper barista-made coffee, which is a significant step up from the usual machine-made lattes.

Extra Amenities

For those on a long transit, the shower suites are a great way to freshen up. Just keep in mind that the lounge is a "silent" zone—no boarding announcements are made. It keeps the environment peaceful, but you'll want to keep an eye on the flight boards so you don't miss your gate.

The Verdict

Overall, this is a solid, high-quality lounge with great food and drink options. While the open layout doesn't offer much in the way of privacy, it provides much more comfortable seating than the main terminal. It serves its purpose perfectly as a place to rest up before a flight or during a connection.
